Insurance company wants to repair my intercooler, not replace

could always have them price repairing it buy replacing the core. that should make it cheaper to just replace it.

refuse it especially if you are paying full coverage. That should be replaceable unless your deductible is like $1,000

Yeah insurance adjusters never make proper estimates. They sometimes overlook the hidden damages.

I dont know the whole story, but he said his car was backed into. I would think its the others persons insurance covering, not the OP. The price for a new oem might be the reason they are wanting to repair. So why not just quote an aftermarket one? Good chance to upgrade.

Make them replace it.

I hit a deer and a few fins on the very bottom on my aftermarket intercooler were bent from the mesh attachment point to the front bumper and they are replacing it. You just need a receipt or some kind of invoice to show the price. Have the body shop also dispute it.

I would have them say its unrepairable and price an OEM one. Then upgrade to a bigger one and keep the change!
