Water leaking into passenger footwell
Water leaking into passenger footwell
I have water leaking into the passenger side footwell from the a/c, it was still blowing cold air until the blower stopped working. I know water was getting into the blower because I could hear it being blown through, any ideas as to what would cause this?
I searched and found that a pinched or clogged drain tube can cause this but I'm also guessing the evaporator could be bad.

Had this happen on my evo8 ,, it was the little drain tube in the engine bay , make sure you clean out all the water ,,
It also fries the little electronic circuit board located behind your glove box on top of the blower assembly .
Good luck

The drain tube comes outta the firewall into the engine bay , its centered on the car probably right behind the intake manifold and just below it , Its a small black rubber hose with a 90* bend in it, it can be tugged off by hand , just blow it out with compressed air or something .
Once you take off the glove box you will find the blower assembly ,Kinda have to lay on your back but theres about 5 screws that hold it in place that need to be removed, this assembly houses the blower itself which is where the water will collect .
Thats all that needs to be dried .
After its dried you will need to inspect the resistor located on top of the assembly to see if its shorted out , you can use a regular lancer one from a junkyard as a replacement !

Awesome, thank you very much sir! I'll take a look when I get home from school today, do you know if the blower from a Lancer will work? I think my blower may have gone bad from the water leaking into the housing.

^ I was talking about the resistor , im guessing thats your problem rather then the blower as its designed to short out before the blower , and it disables the fan from operating , actually i think mine still worked on low or something like that.
