TW for a retrofit group buy
TW for a retrofit group buy
I contacted TRS to see about a possible discount for members on the board who would be interested in doing a retrofit on their EVO XIII, IX, X, whatever. This is the response I received back:
Hello Rahmad,
Zach here at TRS. Thanks for the email as well as the bit of patience while waiting on a response to it. For group buys we usually require stage 3 retrofit kits to be what the group buy is for, were you guys interested in doing retrofits with complete kits? If so we can likely get something setup for you. If you were just looking for HID kits we don't typically offer any group buys for those, but could likely work something out, depending on the number of participants.
How many people do you think would be interested in placing an order? Give us a bit more details and we'd be glad to see if there's something we can workout for you!

For info:
TRS Stage III kit is projectors, ballast, relay (if needed), bulbs, and shrouds. It's everything you'd need to properly convert headlights to an HID setup and requires baking the lights to remove the lenses and do some handy-man work on the insides

What kind of "handy-man work" is required?
take apart the headlights completely, remove the old projectors, figure out how you want to mount the new projectors, align them, put everything back together, mount on the car

I've done this on Civic FA5. It took about a hour per headlight the first time. Its a hell of a upgrade.
you're going to be VERY hard pressed to
1. find people who want to do with without posting prices
2. want to do this at all. the evo lights aren't terrible and for most people, the change isn't worth the time or money investment

I have a GVR it out the HID ' S and i absolutely hate driving at night due to poor visibility. I want to do the retrofit for this reason, not just for looks.
My wife has the mini-H1 on her civic and they're alright.
