The problem is knock. Race gas and 30 psi makes power with supporting mods. On pump gas, 92 is crap, so a high boost level will cause knock. Knock i believe is am easy way to lift the head. That's where the head studs come in. Its just a precaution.

 

A. if your going to tune/log your own car and dont know the answer to this question to begin with, i can say confidently you should not be doing what your doing.

B. your tuner should be able to tell you how much boost you should run for a decently conservative tune, whatever your set up is.

 

Wana count the scars on our hands and find out whos been working in shops longer lol. ive had one job my entire life that was not in a shop . ive heard that statement prior and i can confidently say you dont learn crap if you dont attempt to learn what u dont fully understand...

 

Well tuning your own car with NO experience can have drastic consequences. If you aren't getting help from someone with a clue m34g63 is right unless you don't care if you blow/hurt your motor.

 

never said i was going to attempt to tune it. as stated in my original post.
im just learning it and have been reading like 2 different books and just playing around with logging and understanding what i see. i thought he was referring to something else for some reason, or i would have just said im not trying to tune my car prior. i just happened to be trying to learn it.
