I guess you are right, I was using it more like a precaution so maybe I should have choose my words a little better so I removed that statement

At the end of the day when it comes to meth to each his own, I had a TON of fun when running it and I just happen to be fortunate enough to be able to run E85 which gives me the piece of mind instead of always wondering you know.

That is how Mike@AWD kind of started his thread. An intro to scare. Not trying to pounce on you. The rest of what you wrote is right on. We all trying to help the op .

Also the meth isint physically injected in the motor until you race the car. Meaning if you shift at 2500 your not going to use any meth, but if your constantly red lining your going to be filling up that tank in the trunk quite often.
Most all meth kits are acctivated by boost, the tuner can select a certain psi when the meth is activated and the pump sprays so saying that at 2500rpm the kit isnt on is incorrect, you could set it at 20psi if you wanted to and just stay under that threshold and not spray a drop

If it has a bad tune then it can be bad for your engine, but a bad tune can mess up your engine even if your not running meth. Also yes, it is bad to run your car with the meth tank empty, is just like putting regular gas in an evo thats tuned for 100oct. You'll get huge amounts of detonation.
Wrong again, of course you can hook it up wrong, I installed my own kit and it was a PITA and it would have been easy to screw up if you dont pay attention.

If you have the correct pump then running dry wont fry the pump and if you have fail safes in place when you hit the boost threshold where it would typically activate it will sense that there isnt meth being sprayed and you will run off of wastegate boost and keep things safe.

Best thing to do is to kill power to the kit to make sure you arent running the pump without meth and to turn the boost down and you will be fine.

i thank all of you for your input every little bit helps. there is a guy that i work with that knows alot about mitsubishi has a 750+ hp 3000gt and has been trying to help me. he said daily driving this car would be fine he wouldn't personallly do it but it would be safe still if i did. i also called the dealership the guy is as helpfull as he can be he said the car is running a very small setup nothing crazy. he said it was only boosting 18-20 he wasn't positive but 18 is stock right? so its not that much difference. if this is true would i still need a tune if i just unhooked the methanol from the engine?? or if i turned it off somehow. I am a mechanic myself but i am only just starting in the industry and i still have alot to learn i do want to learn all i can about performance enhancement but i have a slight problem reading and comprehending that so all your help is appreciated. any help is appreciated thanks

so you are saying that i can just crank down the boost and pretty much unhook the system and it will be fine? the car is running max 20 psi according to the dealership and 18 is stock right?

as a temporary fix yes you can do that and drive it without really getting on it but you would have to get a retune if you pull the kit completely.

Have a Evo tuner look at it. Put it back to stock and build it yourself. You need to get a tune
