i knew i was getting the car 2 years before i got it when my brother test drove the 04 RS. they knew that they knew less about the car than i did. i ended up getting my the morning after it came in the previous night
I am the 3rd owner on my 2005 VIII and I new the original owner and he knew the person he sold it to 
, otherwise I may not have bought it. Bought it in 2007 with 36k miles and it now has 115K. Sticker was like $36k and I bought it less than 2 years old for $22.5k privately.

Bought it brand new April 26th 2006 with 9 miles on it. Traded her in to the dealership I worked for, realised what a huge mistake I made and bought her back before they even moved the car, lol!!! Paid invoice the first time for $32,914 the only paid $25,000 the second time!! I will NEVER part with her, 58,992 on the clock and will rebuild her as many times as possible!

ive got my window sticker, all receipts for anything done to the car including every gas receipt, tires, and parts. i still have the original stickers on the door and glove box. not still stuck on but they are with the owners manual

Thank you, that's all that really needed to be said... there's a reason I didn't buy new. I sleep comfortably at night knowing I didn't pay what most pay for brand new. It had 20k miles on it and it already depreciated a good amount. I'm much farther along in paying it off and the car still smelled new when I bought it.
I've always had the philosophy, never buy a new car... I am very cautious and meticulous though and this guy had 3 Evo's prior to this. Had I bought it new, I'd still be paying a ton on this car. I can't even tell I'm the second and last owner.

btw, I got mine brand new, 2006 evo 9 mr in april 2006 with 9(really?) miles and drove it 500 miles to home. it still had the inspection stickers(in japanese) on the sunvisors-overlayed it with 3M tape. the glove box airbag warning tag still intact anyes all the stickers in it until it was wrecked.
