I was involved in a motorcycle collision about 5 years ago, and have an extensive list of back problems from it... however it is on my right side never my left. This accident has screwed up my left hip and left mid/lower back... i hope they wont try to say it is a pre existing injury...

I took the carpets out but I am not exactly sure what i was looking for and where the crump welds are, I will try to research em later.

Sadly the person that ran me over on my bike had progressive, so does this person so they will know about the motorcycle accident.

Anyone know if Bel Red will be a sufficient shop to investigate possible damage at the other end of the car? testpipe/downpipe/exhaust manifold?

*also The exhaust is not completly pinched, there is airflow even at idle I thought it was completly at the time of collision

Ah man, I'm sorry to hear, the same thing happened to my 240sx last year...fresh out of the shop after $3000 worth of work and a week later a lady in a Prius smashed into me. Needless to say, the 20 year old car got screwed on insurance....but seeing as the Evo is a newer car and has a high resale value, you should be fine. Just make sure you keep tabs on your personal injuries because that's exactly where insurance companies will try to squirm their way out of.

BTW, JDM bumpers come painted with factory colors: http://www.hpautoworks.com/index.php...4bccf25a9c893d

Good luck buddy.

also if the total of damage is more then 2200 dollors they will have to have an adjuster come inspect it. i wouldnt advise getting your car fixed until this happens because u may not beable to afford it and then you owe the body shop a **** ton of money if the insurer does screw you but from your story it sounds like you'll be ok on the car part and when the adjuster does come out make sure you point out all visual damage and also mention to him that you think there is more structural damage. sounds to me that you wil get a nice check from this and i wouldnt give it to the body shop to repair this do it your self and upgrade. some old lady put three scratches and a dent o my rr door skin. I recieved a check for 2600 dollors 7 days later. i made sure the police report was perfect i hassled the ladys insurance company everyday i got the esgtimate from the MOST expensive body shop around...insurance companys CANNOT tell you where to get your car fixed!!! O and if its in the police report that you were injured you should definately be ok

While I see what you are asking... There are already 2 threads pertaining to my collision open, one in general and one regional.... The reason for that was originally I wanted to know ASAP if i could drive with a pinched exhaust.

Im not going to repost it in your thread, sorry broskie.

Im still keeping both open because people are giving awesome advice in both

Update.

Talked to the insurance adjuster today... He was nice and im guessing I judged him a little to early when he called and I was at the doctors office. He had me do a recorded statement of what happened, and seemed like he was more than happy to give me a rental, however, he has not talked to the girl that was driving yet and says they can not accept liability/guilt until they talk to her. Her dad called the night of the collision to report the accident, and she did not answer the call placed to her. He said he will try and talk to her tomorrow.

I explained everything that happened to him, and thanks to MMMMBoost I got a lot of good advice. If anyone cares to check out my facebook there is a picture of trunk damage inside the spare wheel well. I took the carpet up and didnt see anything wrong, but mmmboost asked me to check again, this time I pulled the tire up and sure enough there is a 3 inchX6inch dent in.

The adjuster said they will set up a tow, have it taken to a shop and within 48 hours will have an estimate completed and repairs started. I explained that I dont want all OEM parts installed... he said I need to work this out with the estimator...I didnt like the sound of it, so I will need to make sure that not a SINGLE repair is made until we figure out how to do it.

tonight I will be researching which exhaust to get, and where to get the JDM bumper. someone posted a link in this thread or another, not sure.

Also he told me it is my job to find proof of 'Loss of value' (loss in value due to collision) so if i can prove that this accident will be a negative mark on the carfax and cause me to have to resell it for less i can get some cash on that end.

Few questions I will research, if you are bored enough to give your input it will be appreciated.
I learned today that the stock crashbeam wont fit with a JDM bumper, how do i get the shop to bypass this without buying the JDM fitted one? Or do i just drive it home with no bumper and put it on myself?

and of course any awesome exhausts I should check ?
Thanks guys

No call from the adjuster today... which means they have not talked to the other driver yet. If I dont get a call tomorrow i will just go get a rental and apply for reimbursement later. I have up to 10k personal injury and rental reimbursement on my insurance so I should be ok.

My back actually hurts pretty damn bad... I have been in several accidents and this was the worst by far.

Make sure if you are looking @ a damage disclosure on the vehicle you make sure you bring that up. That destroys your resale on the vehicle and will entitle you to additional reimbursement due to "loss of value" on the vehicle. However, even the accident alone on the carfax will make it harder to sell, so I'd bring the accident hurting your vehicles value after repairs into play there regardless.

***Also, I'd tell him you want an estimate from your own shop. They are just going to take it to the cheapest place if you let them.
