Is for a 9... I have an 8 is there a difference?
The 8 and 9's rear is the same. You have to either get a modified crash beam, have them modify yours, or take it out completely. I am taking mine out when i install mine next week, but since yours is getting done by a shop, i dont know if they will do that. You will have to talk to them about it.

drive the 3010 impala?

yeah, I just keep the wings retracted and only utilize the turbine engine while on i-5.

Its pretty quick, those turbine turbos spool quickly...

Back from Bel Kirk. Was sad seeing my baby with no bumper/tail lights.

Bumper is destroyed, crashbeam needs to be replaced, exhaust needs to be replaced.

Shop is confident there are no issues from the exhaust back to the front of the car and will investigate further when they take the exhaust off.

Insurance is paying
About 1k for bumper (their stock bumper + paint+labor)
400 for stock crashbeam
1k for exhaust system
so total of about 2500 give or take, and since it is a super minor dent on my spare tire well i think they are just going to punch it back out...

I am going to have them cut a check... driveline sales has the JDM bumper black for 850 shipped, crashbeam 250 shipped...

now i gotta find an exhaust.

Also, I have a test pipe instead of a cat, so From what i understood was i would need a cat back exhaust system and instead of connecting to my cat, connect to my test pipe....
but the estimator said the shop said i need a new exhaust and i currently have a turbo back system....

Also the shop said make sure driveline comes with an Absorber with the crash beam, he said a lot of the times the bumpers dont come with one and if it doesnt come with an absorber I dont want it... is this true?

yes in first with clutch pedal pushed in i believe.

The noise appears to be my exhaust rubbing on my drivetrain.

the section after the test pipe is what is called the "catback". If that is all that is damaged that is all that you should need. From what you said it sounds like all you need is a catback. You can find plenty of catbacks for less than 1k and walk away with some money in your pocket.

I spent an hour or so reading the JDM bumper + fitting exhaust guide... I cannot find a decent exhaust that does not protrude excessively with a jdm bumper im going crazy

This is not true at all. Being that these bumpers are a direct import from Mitsubishi Motors of Japan, developed for the Euro and Japan-spec Evo's, they do not share in the same crash-safety specifications as the US-Version. With installation, a complete removal of the factory crash beam is needed, along with the Styrofoam 'absorber'. If you wanted to keep your factory crash beam, we do offer versions which will work with the JDM bumper:

Update ....

Still looking for an exhaust.... gotta figure that out tonight or it will delay my repairs i think.

I have contacted and paid a company to prove diminished value ... it cost 275.00 and they are putting a 12 page document together demanding 8k in diminished value.... 8k seems pretty damn high to me, but we will see what happens.

The rep at autoloss says they do 200 claims per month, and about 2 per year do not get paid. If insurance denies my claim, I can try and sue the person that hit me...dont know if i would do that though.

she said my car blue booked at 24k or something, and since it is a 'rare' car with 'low' miles and SSL it is a perfect claim for some $$$ ... figured it was worth the 275$ gamble, i am up 275$ from aftermarket vs oem parts anyways.

There is another company that charges 60$ but I have a feeling it is just a cookie cutter letter with no supporting proof that YOUR vehicle in THIS case is worth less, not someone else's experience.

Insurance made it pretty clear they need some proof... this company says that mitsu will no longer ever certify my car as a certified pre owned, and if i traded it in to them they would not sell it on a lot, just auction it off (based on 5 hours of frame repair needed)

Ill keep you all updated..

any one know of a good deep sounding exhaust?
