my 2 cents.. i use a 3 port boost controller just like this one http://evodynamics.com/3portpn.html which is ecu controlled. the temptation of having the ability to change my boost without hooking up my laptop is too much for me! but if you want to go with the aem i have not really heard anything bad about them, and your getting a boost gauge and boost controller all in one.

Its a nice unit but I've found that 3 Port is the way to go. Look into if your looking for Boost Control system.

Nice gauge, I had no problems installing and setting up. The one problem I have had was factory setting didn't read high enough boost. We contacted AEM and got an upgrade to read more boost. After install things went great. Within 4 months though boost started reading incorrectly. Sometimes as much as 8 pds difference. Still haven't been able to remedy problem. With all that said if your not pushing over 30 lbs of boost I think this gauge is well worth the money. If you plan on ever pushing more boost you may want to look at manual controller.

I had to configure it, took me probably two hours. Issue with it that I had was the documentation was pisspoor on how to set it up - but the install was easy.

I also want to say it causes boost taper, but don't all evo's taper boost? (I'm tapering about 4psi)

Otherwise, great gauge. I love the warning and the bar that progresses. I put it into my ash tray, just like this: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...ost-gauge.html as it was a "Set it and Forget" gauge. I also like that I can close the tray off and most people wont notice it. Also helps when I get pulled over to not have all kinds of gauges everywhere when the cop leans in. And I am anti-clutter. But enough defending it - I understand that it's not terribly visible in that location either.

Takes 5 minutes to set up once installed if you know your wastegate crack pressure, doesn't have any more or less taper than any other boost controller that goes of WGDC and has a bleeder. Even with a 30psi spike you'll always taper to ~24-25psi on the stock turbo anyway. Other boost controllers that have the target boost feature are even more fun/difficult to setup and get working so I'd say the Truboost is one of the easiest I've used. I can't imagine using your laptop every time you want to change your boost either, thats silly to me. Ambient air temperatures changes are going to effect your boost so it's nice to be able to just reach down and lower the wgdc come winter time.

Old thread I know but what do people run the WG spring crack pressure at? I’m sure I’m not the only one using one of these things. Can’t seem to get over 26-27 psi with it maxed out.
