Evo 9 Shatters/shakes when turning left or right

I own a Evo 9 and discovered a month ago that when coming from a full stop, 1st gear, turning left or right, as i apply power the car gets this annoying shattering/shaking that seems coming from the front. I do not feel anything when going straight. Is there anyone out there that had a similar problem? This is driving me nuts and any ideas would help.

Is it a steady knocking sound or more of a wheel dragging/shaking feel? Sounds like you may have an issue with your front diff.

I currently have GL5 SAE90 OEM Diaqueen Mitsubishi fluid in the front diff, and redline in the rear

Yeah it wouldn't hurt but I think if it's not an axel and the thing is still clunking it going to need more than fluid

I don't imagine it's the cv joint if it's making a shaking and dragging noise. The CV would be a constant knocking. Agreed on change your fluid and see if it helps, but it does sound like a diff issue to me.

This may sound stupid but check to make sure that all your lugs nuts are tight, seriously.

I had someone put my suspension on my car and they didnt make sure all my lugs were tight and it was doing something similar to what you are describing and the lugs were loose.

The rear diff has a clutch type posi system. If there isn't enough additive in the oil the clutches may act like you describe. I suggest you try the diaqueen in the rear. We know that works.

Problem Fixed

Well i am never diverting from Diaqueen again. Replaced Redline fluid in reardiff with OEM fluid and everything went back to normal. Unbelievable, that fluids can make a car act crazy... Thanks to all of you for some great troubleshooting..

^indeed, most people prefer to use the OEM fluids for the diffs and transfer case..
