Why would you sell such a beautiful car? I'm keeping mine literally forever.

I'll sell mine for $45k firm, but that is why I will be keeping mine forever.

even the "coveted" supra is losing its value very quickly in todays economic issues. your cars value depends on so many variables but it will sell when you get someone to pay what you want for it. i considered selling my supra after a bearing failure in 07 and didnt feel getting 45k for my car after it was fixed was worth what i had in it (fully built) and now the same level of modded car is going for 30 to 35k. i picked up my evo literally in boxes and assembled it myself with the parts purchased by the previous (out of money) owner for a steal and i feel its worth 25k (again fully built) now that it is assembled but again in this economic crunch i might see 18k on the open market. cars are not an investment at this level and even the vintage or exotic cars are dropping in value drastically.....

And not just that, but the fact that there's a plethora of new Evo's coming out all the time.

I plan to keep my Evo mostly stock, and in good condition. Fewer than 7500 miles per year. Keep the interior clean, and keep people from spilling stuff on the upholstery. I'll be able to sell it before others who have torn apart their cars...

Now alot of galant vr-4 owners have been arguing this for a while now. Say you have full coverage on the car and a tree falls on it. Let say that the insurence company says it's only worth 1,000. If you can prove that cars that are simalar to yours selling for alot more they tend to give you more, but you have to come up with more then one example. Thats why on the vr-4 forums we tend to leave the for sale thread up and how much the car sold for.

The market doesn't see the X as a (true) substitute for the IX/VIII. The X doesn't have anywhere near the street cred.

When we all agree on selling our Evos for more money, can we also agree that we won't work unless we are paid a bit more too? I mean, while we're at it and all...

Like I have heard from a car salesman, "It's worth whatever someone is willing to pay".

Not true. I am the second owner of my Evo. First owner never garaged it though he had one. He did not care for it as it should have been. The engine was in good running condition because it was stock and has not given me a problem. The interior and exterior though were a bit different.

The guy had money and everything was disposable to him, as it is with many who have money.

I have restored things to a much better condition. The car stays garaged. I treat it well. Better than the first owner ever did. I do not plan on making my car a track car or getting rid of it. I love the style of the Evo.

Just being a second owner does not mean one does not care as much for the car as the first owner, sometimes we care more.

^^^ I agree but instead of "care more" I think second owners are "more grateful" lol. some first owners just beat the car and think to themselves I'm trading it in soon anyways who cares, I know alot of people with new cars that are like that.
