Why not ask more $$$$ when selling an EVO?
the fool only kept that car for about a year but had the Evo a lot longer.I agree theough about the more grateful that is better wording for it.
Not grateful, maybe just a bit wiser. We have bought both brand new and used. If your going to be able to keep the vehicle a long time, greater than 5 years, then buy new. If your going to get bored and want something different before then, then buy used.
Like someone else here said, a car is not an investment. Buying new, you automatically lose many thousands the moment you drive it off the lot. Buy used and then the loss isnt as great if you want to do something different later.

Wiser? For wasting more money off the top?
Of course they are not investments so why spend more when I can have just as much fun for less? Besides if something needs fixed it is not that difficult to do for the most part. Gerneral care and maint. can be done by the owner for little to nothing.
The whole point of me saying "grateful" was because I see people that buy used cars take better care of the car then people that buy new ones. I just think the people who buy used are more grateful and thankful for their car thats all.

I just put up my VIII RR (COMPLETELY STOCK) for 15K on CARS.com. I know BB is around 12K-14K. I was kinda banking on the fact that I did no mods to it and it only has 87K on the odo. Plus it is kinda rare to see an Evo around these parts (IOWA). I have about 6 potential buyers with 2 about to start a bidding war. But it all depends on what their banks are willing to give them for financing. I think the guy with the small hometown bank may get it, pretty easy to get a loan if you are going out/engaged to the bank manager's daughter.

The rare thing can be good and bad though. It means there is a chance more people will want it but also a better chance few know what they are.
Either way i have no plans of getting rid of my evo in the future. I hope to be an old man driving it just as I do now.

Yeah, knowing the bank personally is a good thing.
But I know credit unions around here use KBB.com to determine the amount they will lend. They will lend up to 110% of the RETAIL price. And I think the listed retail price on KBB is almost always higher than what you can get away actually paying.
They will lend 110% to help you cover the cost of sales tax and reg etc. But that is only for the customers with the best credit scores and history, which we are fortunate enough to be.
Isnt this what the banks did with the whole housing situation.. appraise the houses for more than they were worth? that didn't seem to work too well
and that "rare car fee" was nothing more than making dealer markup look legit.. i seriously don't know how this is legal.. they had 10k charge on the gtr here when they were new.. and lets not talk about gt500's or ford mustang king of the roads

Yes, and thats why you need excellent credit to get 110% of retail price. Otherwise they require larger cash downpayment and charge higher interest rates.
