Question Poll on EBAY seller.

Hello,

Here's he story..... Bought (& paid in full on Feb 22) a decent Perrin cat back. Received and e-mail today saying they couldn't ship it to Alaska and would I like my $$ back. Nothing in auction description about shipping limitations. While I know is "out there", it is in the US (we get mail!!). Shipping was/is $60 flat..........

Should I push the issue? I could use a decent 3" and the quality and price are right for me.

thanks,

Buddy

It looks likes the seller thought $60 would cover the shipping cost but didn't realize how much it would be to ship to Alaska and now does not want to ship because it will cut into his bottom line.

He should honor the listing. And Ebay will probably back you, but if you really want it you may want to offer to pay the shipping.

Good Luck!

I pretty much agree with this; really depends how hard you want to fight for it.

I would fight for it. The seller didn't have any restrictions listed as far as shipping goes, and if he figured it wouldn't cost more then $60 to ship to Alaska that's his fault for not researching enough.

Depends on how hard you wanna fight for it like Kracka said, but if you got it for a good price anyways, I would just work something out with the seller (possibly split the shipping and chalk it up as a learning experience?) or ask for a refund and find another one.

+1 for working it out with the seller. EBay will be next to worthless in helping you out. At best, you'll get a refund and at the end, everyone's upset. Why go through all that? I had a seller send me the wrong radiator, even though the listing specifically states compatibility with my exact car. They would not budge on paying for return shipping. I opened up a complaint. In the end, Ebay was worthless in resolving it. All they could say was that "if I had bought the wrong thing at a store, I'd still have to drive back to the store to return it". WTF? Trust me, you don't want this kind of aggravation.

Ask for a refund or what the additional cost to ship it to you in Alaska would be.

Probably not a huge amount more to send it to alaska.

I always try to avoid any situation that will give the other party reason to leave negative (or neutral) feedback for me. Like my 100% rating and want to keep it.

A good rating adds validity when dealing with people.

Look both places. What you need or want is not always available in one place or the other.
