I definitely don't want to spin out on decel! Maybe like krieonic said about a smaller spoiler? One that is almost flush with the trunk.

I heard on a site that over 108mph the wing starts to effect you. And also wing makes gas mileage worse daily driving I heard.. FYI

A VG paired with a small lip spoiler would be better than nothing if you really need that extra couple of MPH. Without the VG though, a small lip spoiler is useless.

I think Krieonic was talking about full out drag cars with HUGE spoilers on the rear, just mounted low. They sit low and far back to get clean air to function. It's not quite the same as a lip spoiler and you don't really want to go all out like that I'm sure.

You'd probably gain more by taping up portions of the bumper holes.

Is their a compromise between the extreme drag car spoiler and a lip?

Probably nothing that's very functional. With the shape of the Evo you're going to need something fairly high up or very far back to have much of an effect.

If you aren't going to stick with a high wing I would go for some sort of functional rear diffuser. The only other thing I can think of would be a wing right off the back glass like the old WRC car but let's that thing was hideous.

If you want something custom built, sure. But, if you're haing something built, I'd suggest again to look in to underbody solutions. A belly pan treatment could reduce lift (basically more overall downforce) and reduce drag too. So, more stability and more top end.

i wonder if the stock front under-tray has any big impact on top speeds. i, along with many others, hate removing it and putting it back on when working on the car (dumb *** clips)

Yes, the stock front under tray is functional. It does help reduce lift on the nose at speed and also helps to cool the transmission and TC.

Pizzaman, I mean FULL under car aero ... but mainly between the rear control arms and the rear bumper cover. There is lots of turbulence in that area which causes lift, and also some "parachute effect" which causes nothing but drag on the rear bumper. Give the air under the car a direct, turbulence free route from nose to tail and you'll likely notice improvements from 80mph up in both speed and handling. You just might lose minimal braking performance ... lol.

as touringbubble said, i'd get aftermarket or custom front and rear undertray.... with significantly less lift, loosing the rear wing is less issue with traction. also hope your tires are up to par
