Anyone know if they changed the chips in the newer evo keys? I had bought a salvaged evo a few years ago and never had a fob for the vehicle, so I always have to use the locks. Not really a big inconvenience, there are just times when it would be nice to have a fob.

Do you mean a new key or a new remote for locking unlocking doors? As far as I knowthe key needs a chip but a remote just needs to get reprogrammed for your car?

 

Remote is what I'm looking for, but I don't want a fob. I'd like a combo

I have been searching for a tidy solution for a key and fob in one. I don't need the immobilizer function, just the lock/unlock.

I would love to have a fob/key all in one, the flip key feature is just a nice touch.

 

I would just get a new alarm like a Viper. It has keyless entry and I installed mine to work with a APEXi turbo timer.

I can unlock my car and feel better about not getting it broke into since evos attract a lot of attention.

I have had 2 previous cars broken into that did not have alarms.
