blew my engine
Stay far away from them!!!! Majestic is horrible and treated me and my car like ****! They also love to leave customers cars two feet from the road outside and tons of there customers car have been broken into. They also took 2 months to do my clutch and used royal purple tranny fluid like morons. Trust me stay away!
Well I'm not going to get into talking **** about them or anything they do as we all have our opinions. I know it's not really a mystery around here the way my brother and I feel.
It's funny you said something about stuff getting broken into there. I've actually not heard about that.
My brother's Supra got broken into while it was there and had a bunch of stuff stolen. The thieves bashed out the driver's side window. NOTHING was covered. I guess technically it's not their fault, but at least hook us up a bit on the price of a new window. NOPE. We paid full price for the install on the glass and it was installed in a way that the window wouldn't roll all the way up. So the car was left outside in the rain with the window open a crack. F*CKED the driver side carpet up.
Other facts:
The front knock sensor line was split.
Miscellaneous hoses were split (yes this happens over time, but the main thing the car ran fine before it went in and these hoses looked in good order before) It had something related to the head go bad. The car shook a bit, but was still decently quick. It's WAAAAY slower after the head was built. Still is.Other than the cylinder head being built now nothing was changed and the car is drastically slower.
Hood was dented. The hood needed to be replaced anyway, but the dent was most certainly NOT there before. My brother wasn't looking to have it covered, he just wanted whoever dented to man up to the accident.
Powersteering fluid mix-up. I forget what was in there (I think brake fluid or something), but we got the car back and it was CRAZY squeeling whenever the wheel was turned. Like I've never heard anything like it. I went inside and questioned it and they said we brought it in like that. NO F*CKING WAY we did. It was a horrible noise that I was embarrassed to drive around people on the way home. Anyway we got it home and drained the mystery fluid out of there and filled it with power steering fluid and BAM good to go.
Again that's not me talking ****. That stuff happened and I witnessed the events. I hear a lot of people talking Majestic down. I don't talk about them for the most part cause if they aren't working on my car I don't care what they are doing. I've heard stories of an RX7 ending up in a ditch or something or this and that. At the end of the day if they run their business poorly then that's their problem.
If someone asks about my experience I'll tell them. Otherwise if it's Evo related I would just bring my car to an Evo shop.
Haha the car im talking about what a 10sec civic. Theives know that they leave are cars by the road and take what they please at night. I also forgot to add that Majestic Motorsports quoted me a price and then almost doubled it and said I was lieing about the price they quoted me over the phone. That place is a joke and run by *******s. Ill never ever do buisness with them and ill continue to tell anyone whos thinking about going there my experience.

Let me rephrase my original statement. 8K is too much to pay for a OEM motor to replace what you have. Go built. You'd be surprised how quickly the numbers add up (I wen through this over the summer).
I also just did this... I didnt spend 8k on a built bottom end and built head. Obviously I did the labor... but even if we added our standard engine removal/build/install labor I would have been well under 8k.
Yeah you most likely can get a nice built motor for the same price as a stock shortblock but:
1. Most dealer installed shortblocks have a 12mo 12,000mi warranty, most modded engines don't and if they do, they are very hard to collect on. A dealer warranty is no good either if you are modded, but if you are stock you may decide to hold up on any mods to make sure you have a good engine just in case.
2. If you have the cash to do it, then I wouldn't bother with a stock engine, but I wouldn't put myself in a financial bind in doing so. In other words, if you don't have the funds to laugh and order up another shortblock if your brand new racing engine takes a puke 5,000 miles or so later, I wouldn't do it, just do what you can to get the car back on the road with as many guarantees as possible.
