blew my engine

blew my engine

theyre trying to charge me 8 grand for an engine rebuild. they said my engine is toast. ALso said i have a cracked piston does it really 8 grand including labor?

Why not look at buschur racing's website. They have blocks built in stock, and it will give you a good indication of price.

who is trying to charge you 8000 for a rebuild in NC? why not take it to force fed or spec ops, they are both in fayetteville and know evo's very well

you got to think about all the other pieces other than the block that need to be replaced.
timing chain kit
head work
oil filter housing
oil pump
water pump
oil cooler
head studs

plus labor isnt cheap as its not as simple as people think.

Sounds like a stealership price. By a built block (Or Forcefed can build you one for about the same price)

We don't have timing chains on Evos.

8k is way too much, no matter how you spin it.

my bad timing belt

it costs a lot trust me. thats why my car is at STM waiting for my block to come back from buschur's.

yes 8k is more than it should cost but still looking at 6k+

reading all this I'm just asking myself why is this thread even made?I know you are smart enough to know this is way yy too much for what they are doin for you....right??? find a built one or have it built by the pros..either way have your car towed out off there....sounds like a dumb shop that we have here in atx. always trying to rip people of...gl and be smart.

NEGATIVE about the $6k + plus pricing....

At this point, your cheapest, best alternative is to purchase a 2.4 motor... You can get the motor for probably around $3k or $4k... and you'll pick up some torque.... and it will be your cheapest alternative to the 4g63...
