First off, let me say "hi" to those who didn't catch my intro thread. My name's Tom, I live in New York State's Finger Lakes, and I just picked up an '06 Evo in Electric Blue.
It's bone stock except for an Exedy twin-disc clutch and an intake. Decided that my old Subaru Legacy five-speed just wasn't cutting the mustard for me anymore.
Got it home last night from Ohio, there is zero corrosion on the underbody. Paint is immaculate, interior is in 9/10 shape. Kinda loving this thing, it's got bawls. Highway passing in top gear is just point-and-squirt.
Cam phone on lowest settings, apologies for quality.
All set in the new home

The color really pops, it's gorgeous

Grungy from the 500 mile trip home, but in amazing shape

Classic RWD V8 or modern AWD turbo 4? Why choose?

With my daily, my cherry 300M Special

My 1968 Mustang fastback, getting ready for hibernation soon (and a bath, gah)

Still in love the styling on this car, especially in the Special trim

I'll be searching the forums for answers to many questions, but I'll apologize in advance for the inevitable noob questions I'll likely ask

Parting shot:

Enjoy!

Thanks guys! I am loving the car so far.
Iceman, I live just north of Canandaigua. Midlife, about 67K, the t-belt is getting changed as soon as possible, and professionally (I have both STM and Innovative Tuning locally). I will also have the shop go over the car for any "gotchas" that I missed - I did a comprehensive search here for "what to look for" - bent radiator fins suggesting a turbo swap, matching VIN stickers on all panels, ACD lights, bubbling wing clearcoat, etc.
I do have one question - can I run 16" wheels on a IX GSR for snow tires (already have a matched set with less than 500 miles from my 300M) or is 17" as small as they go?

, be sure to spray paint everything in the engine bay.
Dye the seats red with spray paint,
change the wheels to Tenzo's
and remove the muffler and cut holes in the exhaust so its nice sounding.
Dump those lame OEM lights and get altezzas

Thanks Emery. I'll likely be in touch with you soon about the aformentioned "combing-over."
The color, I have to admit, really sold me. Lots of monochromatic Evos out there; the blue is stunning.

Also, The 16 inch wheels will not fit on the front without a lot of work. Clearing the brakes is near impossible with them. The only company I know of that makes a custom wheel to work is CCW.
