started to get cold and I noticed a little whining. That bad?

You know how it whines in first gear? When u start off. it kinda does that but quieter but when I go close to wot I nearly hear it like it's not there but when I let go of the gas u can hear it when slowing Down. I just got the car and he had a recipt for a brand new tcase put in 5xxx miles ago. And I never launched it. But I just changed to ams severe gear 75w-90. So idk.

 

You put gear oil in your t-case?

 

Yeah and in rear diff

 

the amsoil 75w90 sever gear is a gl5 that tons of people are using in the tcase and rear diff. the trans gets a not as slippery gl4 75w90 gear lube.

sever gear just designates it as a high additive high temp gear oil not necessarily trans only oil.

 

yeah i got ams tranny fluid in the trans

 

sounds like plain old drivetrain noise

definitely more pronounced when it's cold out

doesn't necessarily mean anything is wrong...if it doesn't get loud with speed in high gears then it's nothing to worry about
