Overboost w/ CEL. HELP!

So recently I put a 3" invidia n1 catback on my car. Car ran great, boosted to a little under 20 PSI like normal, and tapered to 16 like normal. About a week ago I added a megan 3" DP and a 3" test pipe. Now my car overboosts like crazy. From a start it pulls hard in 1st and 2nd but at 5500RPM in 3rd and 4th it hits the fuel cut and bucks, then pulls hard after. I tried to watch the gauge and today in 4th it hit about 24 PSI. I pulled a P0234 code (overboost) and have searched the hell out of this topic, but have not found any solid information on a fix.

I've basically read that a MBC could stop the boost from going too high but could still cause me to hit the fuel cut. Would a flash tune fix the overboost and fuel cut? I really wouldn't like to drop the funds right now for a MBC and tune.

Additional info:
Stock airbox, new spark plugs added not even a month ago, and gapped them all properly. The exhaust is my ONLY modification other than gauges and a stereo.

Thanks for any info.

Get a tune, if you want to boost above stock without a mbc then remove the boost pill

I don't want to boost over stock I want it to boost like normal. Hence why I thought a MBC would be beneficial.

Add a boost controller to control the boost. Also get a tune to take care of the CEL and fuel cut. Simple as that.

Evom vendors offering maps via ecuflash

Go here and talk to most any of these people. Any of them will do the trick some are better then others. I have personally used Mellon and hes great! I spoke a little with Tamer form 4WS and he seems to know his stuff as well.

This is a simple problem with a simple fix. Listen to what these people are saying. You need to a little more research on boost control for the Evo and the stock ECU...

Good luck

Ethan
