If you need the engine bay space. Put your battery in the trunk. Its cheaper and frees up more room in the engine bay. you will never have to worry about your car starting on those cold days

I just swap to mini battery in summer and full size in winter. Mini battery needs changed over when you get below 30*F

Edit: I run 11.5lb braille battery BTW

I have the same issue throughout winter with the ams mini battery but soon as it warms up all is fine again.

stupid question: would oil weight play be a factor in this issue?

im experiencing the same symptom...
sometimes it takes multiple cranks because the car will start then turn off...i havent changed my oil since fall...and my battery is a brand new Interstate Mega Tron...

but once i get the car started and running for a while, turning the car off and on is easy.

Your cold start table may need some adjustment.

Cold start programming may be an issue but not likely. All the mini-batteries ive seen on friends cars only last about 2 years and never work well in the winter. I parked my evo when it was 40 degrees and in less than 2 weeks of sitting it was completly dead.

Engine oil isnt as much of a cold start up issue as it is would be based on how the car is used daily.

Yeah its the mini battery my stinger only has 280 CCA which is like half a normal battery. I live in NH so i guess i will run the mini this winter and see if it will hold out.

This has Nothing to do with the engine oil.
It could be your battery, if not your FPR. I used to have a similar issue when starting up with a replica sard fuel regulator. Once changed all was fine.
