starter compatibility.

Hello , I found out that my evo 8 needs a starter replacement, and wanted to know
if regular lancer starter would fit a evo?.

prolly not. call a local auto store(advanced, napa, auto zone, ect), an have them look up the starter, and ask them if the part number matches any other makes or models.

yes a 2003-2007 lancer starter is the same as the evo starter. they are like 120 bucks

well im going to tell you i went to a local auto parts store and they order 3 different starters before we found on that would work and i think it was an 03 galant not 100% the year but def for the galant. worked fine

like i said 03-07 lancer uses the same starter as the 03-06 evo

Nope the 02-06 2.0 Lancer does not fit the 03-06 Evolution .
Completely different parts.

That is wrong . I am telling you i work on Evos all the time and i own a Lancer they are different . The lancer has one twice the size mounted under the intake manifold and the Evo has a small starter in front of the oil pan .

You guide also does not make sense , it should say 02-06 since they are the exact same motors .

different thing about it was that the cover of the contact gear face on the left.
