You guys are lucky!!! Wish we got fuel so cheap.

At the moment we are paying approx AU$4.54 per Gal of E85.

For 98RON (Approx 93 oct over there) we are paying $6.01 per Gal..

And to think the aussie dollar is strong at the moment..

Thanks for the heads up, nice to know there another source down south. It's more expensive up north (Carlsbad, Oceanside), time to head south.

Click on gas prices, then click your date range and it will show you the average price in the nation since 1971 month by month in a nice small easy to read graph.

E85 is around $2.79 a gallon here in Minnesota and $3.49 for premium. It's around 70 cents difference.

This graph is adjusted for inflation. Meaning, the information on it is actually useful to gauge against the current value of the dollar.

Keep in mind also that speculation over crude oil supply from the Middle East is driving the price up due to the Libyan crisis along with the other revolutions. The Saudis said they would step up their crude oil supply to cover any deficits from Libya. However, as this story reported, they may wait a bit to do it.

Ethanol subsidies from the federal government are still around for 2011 keeping prices low. However, there is a push to allow gasoline to contain up to 15% Ethanol.

In summary, we are in a gas price spike that will subside once things calm down in the middle east. Ethanol will eventually cost more than normal gasoline unless some company heavily invests in ramping up production dramatically (unlikely, esp without government subsidies). Inflation and taxes make the price of everything go up annualy and isn't really anything to ***** about.
