Aem Uego o2 sensor question

What sup guys, I just received the aem uego today and I had read and understand that the best way to mount the 02 sensor is on top of the test pipe or horizontally. Other positions would harm the sensor. .. I currently have the auto meter a/f gauge and it's not too accurate. So can you guys please tell me is the current 02 sensor I have right now mounted correctly so that I can go ahead install the new one provided by aem. Here is the picture of current 02 now and this is how it is when I bought the car...

if you look in AEMs directions they tell you how to place the sensor
they are supposed at about a 10 or 2 oclock position in the exhaust pipe

i would just use the bung thats there. its not really worth all the trouble to take it out, fill in the old bung hole, and weld in a new one

ETS put one in my downpipe facing the same way as you pictured. thats how i run mine and it seems to be fine

The only problem would be ground clearance. The sensor doesn't know what position it's in.

yes any position is good as long its not at 6 oclock position. And why does the angle matter?? whats the purpose??? Actually the sensor is supposed to be as close as possible to the exhaust manifold, BUT not too close that it will burn. It will give you more accurate read. At the test pipe is fine too and a lot of people use it because its easy to replace the stock o2 sensor.

Now you really pointed out the whole thing. So basically we don't want the 02 to come to close to the ground.

im not sure why the angle matters. i was only stating what it says in the aem installation manual.

the only thing i could thing of if the sensor is pointing down (head up) is condensation from the exhaust system could form on the sensor and since its pointing down water could get into the sensor and ruin it. im not sure if these sensors are waterproof or what. with the sensor pointing upwards, the water wouldnt be able to get down into the sensor.thats only my prediction, dont hold me to it

In that position, it worries me about ground clearance. If you're dropped, the sensor may catch something.
