for sure...as I said, I changed the turbine housing to the 10.5, so the peak hp increase was probably mostly due to that, but the spool up and some of that extra torque in the mid-range has to be from the seals...in the boost leak test they leaked almost immediately. Ur car will most likely pick up a bit more power (all over the powerband) but will feel so much cleaner and more responsive.

Wait on the tune until your car is 100% or your just throwing money away

...now wait...a boost leak (from the TB in this case) doesnt have much of an effect on performance because the turbo just has to work a little harder to make the same amount of boost prior to the leak...
now if a hose pops off or something i can understand, but a TB shaft seal leak isnt that bad.
granted im on the stock turbo, i didnt see any change on my boost gauge before or after i did the TB shaft seals.
i dont see how a leak that small small can affect performance other than make the turbo work a little harder.

why would you want to make the turbo work harder on something that is so easy to fix.....

boost leaks make a difference. end of story

oh i totally agree with not trying to make it work harder, but the way its being depicted, is as if you're losing an insane amount of HP to the wheels.
i was just disagreeing because i had not noticed any unchanged amount of HP from the vehicle from doing the TB shaft seals before and after.

If you have a bad boost leak from the seals, that can cause you to lose psi whih will make the turbo work harder and blow hotter air which in turn will decrease hp

Like someone else said, the turbo overspooling is not the only problem...it's mainly that the MAF is reading a certain amout of air, it puts in a certain amount of fuel because it expects that much air but if some is leaking out now it's not running where it should be so it can now be richer and losing power, and not just that now that is also a vacuum leak which now makes you run lean when you're not in boost and have a higher idle depending how bad it is. and then that affects your fuel trims and that can affect driveability, fuel mileage, etc.

You're not going to see a change on your boost gauge unless you know the exact rate how fast your turbo builds boost at what load and can see the difference but I doubt it since there's too many variables. Either way you're going to end up making the same boost but the turbo will just be spinning more working harder to hold that psi and your spool time will decrease since once it starts to build boost it's already started to leak out.
