Evo 8 oil leak from lower crank area.

Hey sup everyone. Figured I post a few pictures of a engine oil leak I am having, I had this for ever. I am change my timing belt so decided I need to figure out where this leak is coming from.

I thought it was from the oil pump. But it looks to be shooting out and spraying every where so it makes it kinda hard to figure out the source.
Any clue can help thanks. It may be the oil pan. This long block only has 50k on it. I had sense 18k. So doubt the oil pan has been removed and put back on un properly

well there are a few seals right there alone to look into ... everything is so dirty it would be hard to say what it is... could even be a cam seal

Clean it all off and check again, could be coming from you oil pump gasket as it takes up the lower section of that entire area. Or hopefully a seal that is replaceable.

I cleaned the area many times to try and figure out the source.

I also replace the copper oil cooler rings.

From what I can see the leak is not coming from any where above where the oil pan and block meet under the crank. SO I doubt it is and seals of the crank or cam

clean and resemble the car without the timing covers on and watch for oil once the car is warmed up ... when i had a oil seal leak the oil would run down to the bottom of the cover some would leak out some would be thrown around by the timing belt

what seal leaked for you?

This is the ****ty part. ^ I tried this once before but with the covers on to see if it leaks had it on jack stands let the car run for a hour No go. It need be high boost or high oil psi to leak.

Lame I know

Grinding noise, well you should take off everything and the timing belt covers. so you can see whats going. You may broken a timing belt, and possibly spun some bearings.

You should be able to eyeball the seals now. The pan gasket (actually RTV) would be a good candidate. Also, the tensioner bolts go into an oil gallery and need to be installed with thread sealer.

Why would you pull off the oil filter housing? To me this looked like the crank seal and as it drips down from the timing cover when your driving it gets all over the oil filter housing as with all other leaks under a car. I don't see why you didn't replace that seal first before resorting to pull that housing.
