I have an XTSS and i don't have an issue, so your statement above is false. It is really hard to qualify a statement like that when you paint with a broad brush.

I love my XTSS and if it had a Vajayjay I would totally service that as well.

Wish this thread was made a year ago, I would have saved a ton of time!

Thanks OP.

I particularly like the part about "if I started over with $1000, this is what I would do". Interesting to hear that a "protune" may be overrated. Looks like I need to head over to the ECU forum.

I had no idea about the mobil 1 situation. Would it be ok to switch to amsoil with my next oil change or would it not be good for my engine since i have been using mobil 1 for the life of the car up to this point?

While I agreed with most of your original post this is one fact that I definitely can't agree with. I had an ACT XTSS put in about 6 months ago and it works flawlessly! I'm wondering if maybe ACT put out a bad batch of disks or something back when you guys were having all of those problems, because I've seen at least two threads in recent months where people have been raving about the ACT Xtreme clutches.

it's ok.. not really something to freak out about unless you are running high boost

There is no Mobil1 situation. If you're not running an FP Red/Black or a built motor there are no issues with the factory recommendation.

Guys, there's a huge thread about this. How about reading a bit?

No, the Xtreme is the XTSS. Same disc but stiffer pressure plate. It's the pressure plate that causes the lockout issues.

I want to say that, the clutch is fine in every other way. Pedal feel is great. Durability is great. Holds tons of power... but all that means nothing when you can't shift above 7000RPM.

And it's worth noting that, the lockout usually only occurs after a hard launch & clutch slip, presumably after heating it up pretty good.

High PSI, I understand you love everything about your XTSS, but there's a reason the ACT, you suck thread has endless negative testimonials. And it's not because David Buschur doesn't know how to adjust his clutch pedal.

Your one positive experience vs. dozens and dozens of negatives doesn't hold up, so go troll somewhere else.
