Here is my issue, have 2 tuners telling me 2 different things. I originally wanted GSC S2 & Precision 1200cc Injectors, my tuner is telling me thats way overkill for my goal, but the price is the same for S1 and S2 and the 850 injectors are only $20 cheaper but thats what is recommended for my car... any ideas on what cams and injectors i should get?

recompile says it here...always go bigger on the injectors (with a good tuner you'll never know)...that way if you upgrade down the road you are covered
as far as cams I'd go with the s1's in your case

S2's are over kill for sure for only 400whp...
If you know your wont be going to much higher then 450 then S1's are for you!
But if you know youll feel the need to say screw the green and get a red and shoot for 500 whp then the S2's would be a better choice.
Just cause one cam will put out more top end, itll kill you whole powerband, which is no fun.
GL and let us know what you go with. And as far as the injectors are concerned, get the biggest ones for your price budget. Never know if youll want to go to E85.

So im def gonna pass on S2, so im thinking S1 or Kelford 272s, i dont really want to upgrade cam gears or spring and retainers. I will also go for the 1000cc i think the 1200 are to big and the 850 are to small...Thanks for the advice!
I have always been advised against cam gears and have seen stock cams gears in high HP cars. As far as springs/retainers, dont worry unless you want to rev hgher. I went 272 but have a red. I always hear positive things about the S1/S2. good luck.
The only reason for cam gears is to fine tune your cam timing to the rest of your system.... every system is the same because they have different parts, normally most people don't do this to the extent of actually having them...... I personally would not get them unless you are looking to squeeze every HP you can with less (takes long time w/o very experienced tuners who do it, which = $$$)..... otherwise, its not work the $ IMO.

I don't understand why people would put anything smaller than a S2 in their car. The S2s spool the same as a S1 but make 25whp more. Why would you not do S2s? The only thing with S2s is that you will need springs too. The are great for the stock turbo and up to 600whp. They really help the stock turbo breath in higher rpms. Get S2s and 1200s at a min. Like was already stated with a good tuner it will idle like stock. leaves you some room to grow as you upgrade.

My thinking is alot like yours, kinda "go big or go home" attitude but im also being told that unless you upgrade to a red/black that the bigger cams/injectors are waste, and we only have 90octane here so im at a disadvantage there, but i have no experience with building an evo i just know what im told or read on here.

BLKCarbon knows what he's talking about and has done his research! To the Op, most people on here just giver their opinions on things and really don't have data to back it up. I have S2's on the stock turbo... Why? Because I did my research and got factual, proven, information on here that made me make the right choice. I'll give you a link! For all those who think they know otherwise post up factual info not BS...

By the way John mentioned in this thread that the car pulls hard after 5/K almost like it has VTEC, well it definately does! Pulls like a freight train from 5-7/k and then drops off cause it obviously runs out of breath...

I completely disagree with this whole "Go big or go home" attitude. Its been shown time and time again that good power comes from the system as a whole. Some big parts need everything else big to actually make a difference. Take a turbo or exhaust manifold for example. Both should be matched to your goals, if you just buy huge then you might make higher peak numbers but will be slower due to a lack of power band.
That said, 1200cc injectors (especially new blue max's or ID's) work great and can be tuned with no driveability issues. The difference between S1's and S2's, Get S2's if you put in valve springs at the same time, otherwise S1's will get you to 400+ hp just fine.

saying S2 are overkill for ur car is like saying an IC that supports 900hp is overkill since you only want 400hp. They both leave room for more power later on. S2 cams have been proven so many times...on stock and larger turbos. As far as injectors, 1200cc should be fine...nothing smaller than 1000cc. I put 750s in a few years ago and regret it. should have gone with 1000s
