I would threaten the cops with a law suit. Them saying there's nothing they can do is some bs and sounds like they not wanting the paper work. What she did is illegal and if you hadn't taken pics of her plate it would have been a hit and run which is illegal. Everything she did is illegal but there's nothing they can do? Ya right. If that's true that police wont come unless someones hurt that's pretty stupid. Advice to california residents in an accident is to grab your neck and scream bloody murder to keep this from happening and get law enforcement there. Sorry bout your car. But good thinking on getting her license plate.

You have no idea dude... The only reason I didn't throw all the stuff on is because I was waiting on my rexpeed lip which came in today.

You're absolutely correct.

Read the last line:

"Misrepresentation of insurance is a first degree misdemeanor." But without a police report, I can't do anything..

Trust me man, I know... But I just want my car fixed. I'm not looking for some million dollar lawsuit on some fake injuries or document falsification. I just want my property fixed. I'm not sue-happy or anything like that.

Wow! What a day indeed. Yea sounds to me that your local police dept. did not want to deal with the paperwork. If it happenend on private property its true they cant do much since its private property. But yea that sucks man it happened to me too. A young girl texting rear ended me and said the same thing " I was stopped" but she added " you backed into me". So I called the police, they gave me the report and issued her a inattentive driving ticket. She also admitted to the state trooper that she was texting.

The body shop estimate was 3-5000$ but in the end there was hidden damage and the total was around $8000. Good thing you didnt install the other parts, that wouldve sucked.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune, that sucks. Did you have the rear crash bar installed or did you take it off when you put the JDM on? Did you tell the cops you have a picture of the insurance card she provided showed you at the time of the accident?

Sorry about your luck buddy. I had a similar thing happen to me but luckily not in my evo. Ho ever if you claim through insurance when ever the insurance estimator comes to take a look at your car they will ask about after market modifications. So you should not have a problem getting another jdm bumper. best of luck

Good example of never trusting anyone to give you the correct info. Thank God for picture phones. Take pictures of everything!!!
