Question Evo 8 cigarette lighter - never worked....

I bought my Evo 8 new. Shortly after I bought it I noticed that the cigarette lighter port never worked. I just kept putting it off as it wasn't important to me at the time.

Fast forward a few years and now I wish I had had the cigarette lighter port looked at under waranty. Anyways, I didn't....

So is this a common issue? How easy/difficult is it to get the port to work for my Zune music?

Did you check the fuse?

After that pull the shifter console out and make sure it is connected.

I'm at work now so I don't have access to the manual. Is the cigarette lighter fuse by itself or does it share other items as well? Reason I ask is because everything else is working and has been working fine....

How easy/difficult is it to remove the console?

Thanks

It is fairly easy just look for any thread that has to do with installing a short throw shifter and/or shifter bushings

the fuse box is near your left leg and you might have to unscrew 4 screws and your shift knob to get to the plug. pretty sure it is one of those 2 things.

There's an inline fuse/ resistor that's easy to blow. This will stop it from working, all you need to do is change it and it will work. I bought a substitute in Radioshack years ago and replaced mine.

Where is the inline fuse? I've checked all the other fuses and they are fine. I travel a lot so I need my GPS. Ive looked under there but didn't see anything.
