First off, I have owned my Evo for close to a year. It is by far one of the most amazing cars I have ever driven, it is incredible how well it reacts to bolt ons. But this is not the real reason I write this. I come from many years of building Hondas. What I am truly amazed by is the Evo owners community. Everyone I have spoke with is always so willing to help another owner with anything. I am greatly appreciative. That is not the way with the honda generation, they would rather see you in a ditch than give a helping hand. I just wanted to give a big thank you to all that have given me insight when needed. It always comes full circle.
i agree with you. that's how i met one of my good friends. it was at a 7/11 and i went and pissed and when i got out he was standing outside and he asked me if the evo outside was mine and then i noticed his evo parked next to it. it was like evo at first sight lol. from then on we hang out every weekend and work on our cars whenever we have issues. plus the furms too! there isn't a potic or question on here that i posted left unanswered. evo owners rule!
I came from homeward too. I think the difference is that most hondas are wheels and fart cannons. The car is more affordable for a younger generation but the don't know s**t about building a car for performance. Every once and awhile I still check out the Honda tech forum and laugh at some of the dumbest questions.
Yeah the ecu flash, is where I started and everyone was willing to meet up with me just to show me the rundown of the software on their own personal time, Awesome people for sure.

Yea, I agree with this about the Evo owners. I think it's just a totally different class of people. Honestly ..not to talk down on anyone.. But the Evo is not a cheap car that just anyone can buy..like the Honda is.. So it kind of creates a different breed of owners.. And a VERY good breed at that !

2nd hand Evo's are becoming cheaper so this is beginning to be a influx of the mentality you see with younger Honda owners.
I signed up here when I had a honda was on HT before the split with H-A.net (OG status....LOL). I think this forum is like others but there are a few stellar standouts like ECUFlash forum.
There is a level of elitism here and conformity. If your Evo doesn't look a certain way then you will get the track ****'s or label ****** callin you out sometimes but that happens on every forum. That nothwithstanding this is the THE best car forum I've been a part of.
I have helped local people with the knowledge I've gleaned form this site. I think I know more about the stock ECU then some of the so-called experts in GA.

Coming from the honda scene and still involved, for the honda owners who are good people which there are plenty of, we keep to ourselves on the street for most part fear of having our stuff stolen. The honda forums are just as helpful for the most part, but I do agree this forum is great and always someone with useful info.
I also came from the Honda world and like all forums it has its good and bads. This forum has many more goods mainly because we are dealing with a whole different age group, and takes a mature and responsible person to own and pay for an Evo oppouse to the Honda world where just about any 16 with a job can afford one. Plus not everyone is out to steal your hard earned work, I hated that part knowing that theres always someone looking to steal your pride and joy
<< was a honda owner also, and this forum is pretty good, certain sections are great.. imo it reminds me of the itr forums where the owners usually are older and not like the honda-tech OT forums lol
Yea i have 93 accord as my first project mostly cosmetics like paint job, wheels, lowering springs ect. it became to problematic since i focused on looks rather than performance and i paid the price for it. Its now sitting at the local garage for sale needs engine work got water in it, if my economy picks up i prob consider an H22 swap but for now my evo will suffice, now that iam more into self work and with the help of this here forum wit its proud owners I wont be making the same mistakes, i to am amazed at the level of cooperation here, cheers everyone!
I would agree that most of the people on this forum are good people with good intentions. It's up to those that have been around here a while to maintain the integrity and the class that you find here. I have yet to find another forum I can sit on for hours without finding somebody with a chip on their shoulder or having something to prove. This is the only forum I am happy to say that I'm an active member of. AND huge gigantic props to the ecuflash guys. You won't find that sort of ingenuity and hard work displayed on just any old forum.
