My gas door does not open with the lever.

I have to pop the door with my credit card after pulling the lever, suggestions?

You probably broke the clip that's opposite that locks the door. The clip is black and is plastic. You have to open the door wide to see it. Mine broke a year ago.

Wouldn't happen to have the part number on hand would you? I've been opening mine with a quarter, quite amusing looks from friends.

Are we talking part number 6, or part number 10 in this picture?

If you look at the hinge area on the fuel doo there should be a clip/wedge on piece of metal and plastic. mine broke a few weeks ago and i have to wedge mt key in the bottom and pull the lever lol

Really cheap easy fix. There are a lot of threads on this already. When mine broke I had to ask a guy to pull the lever when I was prying on my gas door. I felt so ghetto. But ya just get the part MR970563 and you'll be back in business.

Sounds like a very common issue with Evo's, subscribing to this thread in case it happens to me!

i think i might have a different issue. my clip looks to be fine. once the gas door is open i notice that when the lever is pulled, the plastic piece on the right side moves but the pin doesn't retract. any ideas?

problem solved. went into the trunk, took off the left side cover, saw that there is a pink plastic piece near the end of the cable sheath that was supposed to be clipped into the plastic for the release pin.
