I almost bought that car...but the reality is you'll never know
I backed out because I found out he was selling it before the motor and tranny were even in the car

but heres a good question: How much cheaper should an extra 43k on the drivetrain be? 1k? 2k?
I really want to work this out with the seller and come to an agreement.
Even If he used the yellow ones engine , the engine mileage doesn't have to be same as the cars mileage even if it did come from that car, as it could have been proffessionally rebuilt to bring the engine back to 0 miles . I would say for this engine both miles are relatively low and as long as it is running good doesn't knock tick and you can hear how it starts up Cold
Its in indiana your in cinci go look at it. I mean are you serious ? lol
I got to meet EvoKid03 (Jeremy) from buying parts on here. I to was at first kind of freaked out about buying parts from him and reading up. Espicially with all his haters he has on here. I will say if it wasn't for him helping me out, my Evo would have never gotten back to life, and been driving around so smoothly if it wasn't for him. I drove all the way out there a couple times to get little odds and end parts and he went out of his way everytime to do it at a good time for me and always great prices, parts just as described! He's said it in other threads he gets parts for a good deal, and passes it along theres nothing wrong with that. I wouldn't hesitate to buy a car, motor, trans, t-case from him
What does your first instinct tell you? You just didn't come across all the info you found out on your own by chance. You also can't judge any car without seeing it in person driving it and getting an experienced evo mechanic to give it a once over. I don't know the catz selling the cars but if they are good evo mechanics then you might be fine regardless what they swap, change, or whatever they are doing. They are obviously trying/going to make money on the deal so they are will do what it takes to do that. Last thing you want to do is purchase an evo with issues...these cars are complete money pits and you will regret buying an evo that isn't sound just to save 3 to 4 thousand dollars. 3 to 4 tho is nothing with an evo, save and get a 1owner, babied evo.
I would never put a deposit on a car without even looking at it first. The engine bay could be filled with bird feathers for all you know. This is besides the point now though, I would contact the seller like you have and try and work something out based on all the proof you found on the other car he is parting out. If he is truly a good seller he would work with you to set things straight.
Have you ran a carfax on the car at all? Maybe try and get some more history on it as well as the yellow one.
I really hope this works out for you man.

if you have kept up with his post(which i have b/c i've almost bought from him) he even mentions things how he will try to buy things cheap and sell for more than it's actually worth.
