Should I back out of this deal? Please HELP!
Im going to california for a week on the 13th. When I fly back I connect through chicago so I will just check it out then.
I just read the entire thread. You're 24, a student working full-time, shopping for a relatively low-priced Evo that you've been saving for. Fair enough. Please consider that virtually any Evo in your price range will need attention. It can vary from something as simple as a boost leak to entire drivetrain components. You can get lucky and buy a car from an individual who maintained it from day-1, however, you're looking at the exact opposite of such an animal. You know your own constraints best and can evaluate the situation per your needs. Good luck.
Any single thing is worth exactly the amount of money someone is willing to pay for it. If the description of the part in question is misleading, there's no such thing as overpriced. If someone will buy it, it obviously wasn't overpriced. Apart from the fact the guy is a kid and likes to brag with how much money he made, there's nothing that's been proven wrong on him so far.
However if you're that fair guy who likes to sell his things for the "proper price" instead of the most he can get - let me know please what you have for sale. I'll gladly take it off you and resell it at higher prices.
I mean really. Do you ever use your head?
Edit: and just for the record - I've never bought anything from him, I don't know him, I live half the world away from him. I just read the forums.
We all know this person hustles on here, it looks like the point is that he might not be 100% truthful with some of the sales/advertising.
Personally I had a transaction get somewhat questionable a few months back.
Without going into to much detail; I paid for wheels after they had been for sale on here for a while.
After several days passed and his promised ship date, I PM'd him asking for a tracking number. He claimed that my money had been refunded because his tire guy destroyed the face of the wheels dismounting the tires. The same wheels were sold to a different member in this same time frame that I confirmed my money had been refunded. Basically he found a buyer offering more money or maybe even locally and sold the wheels even though I had paid in full several days prior.
It's not a huge deal because I ended up finding a better deal on another set, I just don't like being lied to and my time wasted.

Keep us posted, make sure you run that carproof/carfax and get all your facts together for the car before purchasing. Any evo in that price range as mentioned before will need a lot of work and care.
WOW!!!! Someone arrest the guy! He's trying to make money the easy way!
