Damn that is crazy. On the STI's they have inserts that go between the trunk and the wing to help stabilize it at high speeds. I wonder if we could just put that in on the evos and call it good. Since I dont plan on going more than 120 or so I sould be good .

Great info.

Also can you pull the caps appart and make do some detailed deconstructions.

huh? the only sti I know of with a different style wing is the s204, but that's a more conventional wing where it's mounted closer to the center of the wing as opposed to the outsides...their rally wing has these sure, but i dont think any stock sti wings have supports

He's talking about these:

STI Wing STIFFI
The STi wing is even flimsier than the IX and vibrates at highway speeds. I for one, would rock wing stabilizers on my Evo. They're perfectly at home on a car bred as a competitive WRC car.

That reminds me that I still have my wing that I took off at 35K miles. It only stayed on for a short time after purchasing the car.

How much are the wings worth for a mint IX Apex Silver wing? I've been considering selling mine to offset the cost of my upcoming clutch job. I figure someone needs a replacement wing.

STi wings are flimsy pieces of garbage IMO. They flop around all over the place while driving.

Adding to the post as i was doubtful one could fold a wing under load. Did this a few years ago at Fontana (for the record, i was running an upper Gurney flap as well). Thread here: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/mo...lated-fyi.html
