Seibon Weights

I spoke to Seibon on the phone today about some of there products weight. There fenders vary quite a bit from 5-6lbs. The Dry Hood (stock appearing) weighs from 3.8kg to 4.1kg. There wing comes in at 11.8lbs. There wet trunk is 16lbs. And there dry trunk is from 3.7 - 4.0kg. These weights come directly from seibon! Just be ware that the dry products need a clear coat! Also i was going to buy the dry trunk and hood as well as the wing untill i found out what there tolerances were. If the gap is less than 1/2" (yes .500") than it is within spec! If my car ever had a 1/2" gap i would kill myself!

I've had multiple carbon fiber parts, wide body kits, fenders, hood, trunk etc. I now have all stock body panels on my RS and I am happy. There is a lot of other places to save weight and with then stock panels the car looks good. There was ONE quality set of CF parts Ive seen, they were on the Sparco EVO, dry carbon. Strong as he'll and lightest Ive seen. I tried to buy them off the car, nope were not for sale.......owner didn't latch the hood, it blew open, not so nice now......

robispec has the highest quality carbon parts you'll find with a reasonable price in this community...and the hood is actually lighter than the oem hood

Unless something has changed, you are incorrect. His may very well be the lightest but too light for street use. I can't tolerate a hood that droops down when the prop rod is holding it up. I can't stand a trunk lid that if you push on it your fist will crack it.

I've heard a couple of times that the Seibon CF hood is actually heavier than the stock hood.

The "WET" Seibon hood is heavier than the stock (aluminum) one. The "DRY" seibon hood is lighter. They told me the "DRY" hood weighs 3.8kg - 4.1kg (8.4lbs - 9.0lbs). The stock (aluminum) hood weighs 20.2lbs as per Buschur's site. They also have a Carbon hood weight listed but he doesent say what brand. Maybe he could chime in! But also just for all your info the "DRY" hood still needs a clear coat which will add a little weight and it also costs $2,400! Is 11.2lbs worth $2,400? Ill let you decide!
