so i finally did the oil change in the new evo. i previous owner swears by moble 1. but after some reading lots of people knock using it.

so i wonder what are YOU guys running? miles per change, oil weight, filter part number?

Stick with oem oil filters.

 

depends on what mods you are running. Since I have a stock turbo, I still run mobil 1 10w30, well sort of. I put 4 quarts of 30 and 1 quart of 20w50, so I actually have 11w34 lol

if youre running a larger turbo ive gathered its recommended to use a thicker oil..

 

 

oil change every 3k. mitsu filter. eneos oil. just finally switched from mobil 1. no noticeable "butt dyno" difference. once i do my next change i will inspect the oil and send for analysis to see how it did. I can update in a thousand miles haha. so far so good.

been using mobile1 in my evo for 5years with OEM filters no issue here. @120kmiles

 

Amsoil for both oil and filter.

 

- Royal Purple 10W-30
- K&N 'Gold' filter (comes off SO damn easily too with the bottom made for wrench removal)

mobil 1 10w30 and a k&n oil filter. ive been thinking about switching to amsoil though cause ive only heard great things about it. royal purple on the other hand. that crap breaks down so fast. i think of it as show car oil lol. Cute to show your friends your oil is purple but thats about it.
