Its easier to work on the e-brake sitting in the passenger side, you have more room to move around. Use a 10mm open or close ended wrench.

Are the parking brake pads replaceable. Post the service manual pics. I stupidly drove about 10 miles with it all the way engaged. Now I have no parking brake at all. Pull the lever and it doesn't do much to hold the car still at rest.

adjust the e brake in the cabin. if that doesn't work then check the shoes
