I would then wonder how it got there, if it's 80% fuel!

Bad idea, your engine is laden with moisture. At least run the PCV and run the other valve cover connection to a filter at ground level.

I agree with Don, we use to just run the vent hose to the ground and then left the PVC hooked up. I got tired of the oil though that gets pushed out of the vent, that's why we came up with our can. If you don't mind the oil just letting the hose run down or using the valve cover breather filter it good.

^^

I would run both valve cover vents to the catch can. Otherwise one is being vented, not collecting any fluids!

Find my picture on an earlier page showing my routing.

my catch can setup seems to work well. ''i think''

i have 2 ports on the side of the valve cover going to 1 catch can ''that i have to drain'' some nasty stuff comes out of there.

then i have another catch can that comes off the PCV valve 'PCV valve is removed'' and then it also is tapped into the dipstick to help relieve crank pressure. it also drains into the dipstick.

I run what I think is a properly set up quality catch can and DD on e85 and I drain the can every oil change. 3-4k miles. I never get more than a cup of fluid out of the can. My car runs very well and the intake tract is very clean. Not sure how some of you guys are getting that much fluid out of your cans.

Hey Tom I have the exact same setup as you do installed the same way. I don't get hardly anything out of the valve cover side but just a little out of the PCV side. I would think that if the other guys getting a bunch of fluid were using cans with a more efficient/effective filter media that maybe that's why they have this issue. I don't know. There could be a different issue altogether. Like I said above my system seems to be working well as the intake mani and air intake are always bone dry and very clean aside from the standard soot that the egr causes. Thanks for the video

no problem. when i first installed my can i did get 1-2 teaspoons of clear liquid out of it after maybe 35-40 wot pulls when the car was at 600whp at about 38f temps outside.

but after 60 or so pulls just 2 days ago i went to drain it just now as the video explains and not even a drop came out. the car is only around 505whp right now opposed to the 600 before, but thats only because the mbc needed turned 2 full turns because from sitting for 5months the spring must of did something goofy in there cause it took 2 full turns and stayed at the same boost still but felt way stronger, so that tells me it just held the boost as it did before now instead of rapidly tapering off.. didnt get to log it since then so i have no idea.. but based on the feel i think it made atleast 50whp+ more on same boost.

so i suspect its because of the elements inside the can are doing their job, plus the check valves are showing how functional they are as well..

im gonna turn the boost up and give it hell like i always do.

ill also test the lines and etc, make sure the check valves are still functioning properly and everything is in 100% working order..

and i also run brad penn 20w50

but pretty much i went from having extreme crankcase issues to none at all now.
