This is why you should run a catch can

Running E85 and Brad Penn oil, I get this much fluid in my catch can after about 100 miles or so. This would all end up gunking up everything if it wasn't for a good catch can

It was custom fabricated at STM for my car. It's their normal catch can, just adapted to fit on my firewall, right near the tranny.

From the crankcase, it's the normal ports on the drivers side, and rear side of the valve cover.

That is a LOT of fluid!

There's an inappropriate joke in there somewhere, I just can't think of it yet.

Moroso has adpated their new catch can to the Evo X (they used my car to do it). It's big like that and extremely well made.

So that particular type of fluid collected in the can is specific to e85 you'd say? I'm used to seeing the grimy more sludge-like fluid/substance that comes from the ports.

How often do you recommend checking the cans, and is it different depending on the fuel you use?

It would be neat to see what it is. My theory it is from running E85, but I can't say for certain. All I know is that every hundred miles or so of hard driving, I drain that much from my car. I am sure it wouldn't ruin my engine going through, but everything stays that much cleaner by properly venting it out of the system
