Control Arm Bushing... Help!
Control Arm Bushing... Help!
Hey guys so i have been hearing a weird clunk in the front end of my car for a few weeks and today i finally got a chance to put it on the lift at work. so after about 4 min we found what it was my driver side wheel was able to move freely so we thought it was a ball joint. well i was watching and noticed that the whole control arm moves out when i pull on the wheel and found that it is the first bushing the cylinder one. so i have been looking around but i cannot seem to find the bushings.... i dont know many evo parts sites so if you guys could point me in the right direction or post up the part i need that would be great thanks!
This bushing

This bushing

i see that u can get like an energy flex kit that is all of your bushings front and rear both sides for like 150 is that a better set to get?

Hahah, I have this same exact problem but I KNOW my bolt is stuck in there and I'm going to end up replacing the entire subframe and control arm just because of that stuck bolt.
I would see if the bolt is stuck in there first. My grab a wrench and tug at it. If it's super hard to pull, it might be stuck/seized right on the bushing. Sure, with some force, you can get the bolt to move but if you see the bushing rotating with it, yeah, it's seized...
Edit: I'm also pretty sure Energy Suspension makes bushings for this. There's ES on the pass side but stock on driver side... And I think I know why they didn't bother getting ES on this side...

LOL at heat. ^^^
If they get seized in that bushing its game over.
You can either cut a small area open and fold it back when done, or you cut the ***** out and replace the sub frame like I did.

It won't work as easy as you said it. When I thought of that idea, I also thought about the bushing just melting and you're left with the inner shaft, that's seized on the bolt, of the bushing and the bolt will still be stuck in the subframe.
melted bushing and torched the inner bushing/bolt. cut hole in subframe to break out bolt/cage Such a pain in the ***. Miserable
Note: the larger rear bushing is a weird bushing where I think it is liquid filled, it needs to be able to flex. that or whiteline makes a rear piece.
