Evo 8 idle issue

So we did some work on my evo today, and now the car will start and then it just dies out. At one point you had to give the car gas to just even get it to start. But now, you can rev it up a little bit, start the car, and then once you let off the gas it just dies. We've been working all day on the system, and can't figure out anything. Any suggestions ?!!

subscribed.. I test drove an 8 that im interested in buying, this weekend. And it had the same weird issues.
Start, run normally. Then start idling funny, then die off. start up again no problem.. weird.

Do you still have a MAF system? Did you do anything with intercooler piping or injectors?
Maybe try a boost leak test.

still running maf system, running about 40 psi the bov was frozen up and i rebuilt that also ran a boost leak test and no leak showed. im thinking possibly a intake manifold gasket or possibly a bad iac. the car builds all 31 pounds and runs like a charm the only problem im seeing is it will no longer idle. sorry for bad grammar i typed from my phone.no codes shown.

Sound like classic IAC going bad same thing happend to mine. You can test the resitance between the pins on the IAC or you can even pull it out of the TB still pluged in turn the key to acc and have someone see if the plunger moves also check the teeth on it they tend to wear down and break being plastic. Ebay has some really cheap ones got mine used for $45 new one at dealer is around $300.
