Somehow the statement.."to create more downforce" makes sense on the EVO but still sticks in my throat on the NEON..
I mean, come on.
The 3 Series is the cheapest Bimmer you can buy and we all know what awsome car (M3) is based on it's platform..??

They ARE 2 entirely diffferent cars. For 20K the SRT4 is an awesome buy, for 30K the EVO is too, and for over 50K so is the porshe. I bet if YOU COULD AFFORD a porshe you'd have one too.

I can afford just about any car I want and I drive a Forester XT. The SRT would have been my first choice if they kept the stock Neon look. The Viper front grill and body kit stuff looks cartoonish. I even went to a dealer to see if I could swap some of the body parts with a regular Neon. They said no so Chrysler lost my business.

These tw cars shouldn't even be compared..IO agree with that for sure.
The only thing that could have stoped this thread was using the freaking SEARCH feature. This has been gone over many, many and many more times. Try a search next time. Nothing has changed so I would think if you used search you would find the same answers you found in this useless thread.

It's hard to argue with people who have such blinders on and obviously don't know cars. In the same thread when I mentioned that it's ignorant to think the SRT is a better all around performer than cars like the Boxster S, STI, and EVO he writes back that those are all "econoboxes" that should have "more to offer" for the extra money. I think this guy needs a subscription to Road and Track!
it all depends on what you want the car for.. The srt4 is shall i say a faster street car.. meaning coming from a roll and the freeway.. If you don't take corners hard.. no point of getting the evo.. I mean awd is good.. but its not like u use that thingy 90% of the day.. Most street race encounters happens from a roll, and if yo udont' know how to launch the evo right.. not only will you smoke ur clutch, you'll bog and lose on the launch. And you got ask urself is 10k extra worth it just to say you got ur *** a evo.. Everything depends on you.. For me i like to take the turn hard, and i want to get into tracking my car.. But if you are just looking for a fast *** pocketrocket.. get the srt4.. I got nothing but love for that car.. And for all you evo owners who diss that car.. Try racing one with a good driver.. He'll hand ur *** on a golden platter.. Evo is worth it if you know its heritage and follow it.. SRT4 is worth it if you just want to go fast.. Faster then an evo.. plus the torque is CRazy up in that car

Everyone(even evo owners) seems to forget that the evo is a rally car. It just so happens that it could perform extremely well on street. Try bringing a srt-4 to a rally course an see what happens. The evo is of course a better rally car, a better street car and a better drag car hence the $10k difference
