Tomei Expreme TI with JDM/USDM Rear Bumper?

Hey all.

I finally found an exhaust that I'm looking to buy and it's the link is below.

http://www.tomei-p.co.jp/_2003web-ca...xpreme_ti.html

Now, there are two fitment options: JDM and USDM bumper. Although, I have a USDM rear bumper, I've always thought of the idea of getting a JDM bumper (but with prices starting to go up, it may never happen). So basically I don't want the bumper (fitment issues, etc.) to be the roadblock when choosing my exhaust.

So if anybody has any experience with the Tomei catback in JDM/USDM fitment with either JDM/USDM bumper, please provide some input. Which pairing would give the most versatility in terms of least amount of future modifications to the exhaust?

JDM catback + JDM rear bumper

JDM catback + USDM rear bumper

USDM catback + USDM rear bumper

USDM catback + JDM rear bumper

I figure the JDM catback might be the easiest choice if I ever do decide to go to the JDM bumper. But if anyone has any experience or any other input as to why I shouldn't use a JDM fitted cat with a USDM bumper, I'd appreciate your comments.

I think the Buschur exhausts have the most options because of its slip-fit design unlike most exhausts where they have flanges. gl finding one.

The only flange on the Expreme Ti system is at the cat end...

The cat back for that is 1200 + another 290 for the test pipe.. But you don't want to dish out the 695 for a jdm rear??

If he means by not having to drop a whole bunch of cash on modding his exhaust down the road; if he ever gets a jdm rear, the Buschur will be easier to be made fit. Just saying, but I'm sure the Tomei will fit nicely, because it's a JDM exhaust. ;P

The JDM bumper is not priority for me right now. I look at it as a nice to have, but I absolutely don't need it.

BTW. Where can I get a JDM bumper for $695?

FYI. I'm finally starting to mod my Evo @ 15k miles (not enough extra money and busy traveling for work). Everything on my car is stock aside from a short shifter and alarm. I just ordered a Cobb Intake and DP for cheap today. I'm just saying, that $695 for the JDM bumper can pay for a lot of other things first...

Do you know if JDM exhausts usually rub on USDM bumpers? If there's no interference, I would have no problem having a more inset exhaust. I just heard the USDM exhausts are a bit longer...

take a look in this thread and most of your questions will be answered. It has some pretty pictures too, and that's always fun to look at.
