I have no luck with people and ecu's.

I just bought what I was told was a 2004 Evo 8 ecu, but the part number on the case is MR560648 which seems to be an Evo 7 ecu. I bought this to put in my 1g dsm and already have built my dsm to evo ecu harness. Will I be able to flash an Evo 8 Rom and tune it like any other Evo 8 ecu, or should I get my money back and keep looking for an actual Evo 8 ecu?

I compared the pinouts between the two and all the important stuff seems to be the same. I guess my question is just if I can tune this ecu the same as an Evo 8 ecu for my 1g dsm.
