Haha, so much misinformation in this thread concerning ownership it's not even funny. OP, if you were seriously considering purchasing it, I'd tell you to PM me for the real facts.

This thread has always been almost completely backwards to me. No way I'd trade a mint Evo for that car in any condition.

Feel free to post the facts about ownership. You may help some poor soul considering it.

I read this a while back

http://www.nicoclub.com/archives/the...-states-1.html

to sum it up they say only R33 can be imported but needs crash bars add to the doors i believe adding a extra cat ......... and so on and not many people if any are certified to do it. I do believe they said any car that was imported by Metorex b4 all the legal stuff are legal

Keeping the evo would be the better decision. Much rarer as compared to a Skyline. At least in Canada.

I would definitely not trade the EVO for some 20 year old Nissan.

Bad trade. As cool as Skylines are, the risk of them isn't worth it for the normal person. Unless it's a 96-98 (i think, i've only done basic research), it can technically be seized at any time. this doesn't happen super-often from what I know, but it's like a grey cloud always following you around

What responses do you really expect to get on the largest evolution forum in the web world, that's like Obama asking Palin to swap places...

Because deep down I knew I would be keeping the Evo and I needed reassurance, but it turned out to be unnecessary when I found out that it was in in an accident.

I agree, you have great looking unmolested low mileage EVO, vs and imported car that is several years older with a lot more miles on it. If you trade you will likely regret it.

bro your in broward county, most the cars that i've seen here that were imported such as s15 silvias, r32s and r33s were all somehow registered. most i recall seeing had the orange transporter plates. so to drive them legally im not so sure but it can be done.

On the note of trading your mint low mileage evo 8 for it... HELL **** NO!!!!!!!
it is damn hard to find a stock low mileage or even just in good condition evo 8 or 9 here in our area. keep your car and see if you can low ball Mr skyline. that is if you have the necessary funds to do so without getting rid of your evo.

would never change any evo 7-9 for any skyline except an R34 GTR. Theyre too old and wont give u anymore performance, most likely less in a 32 or 33 because of their age. the 32 is 20 years old, and like all cars that old and will start to have issues if it already hasnt got any. 34 or nothing

I think FL lets you guys register anything. Problem is on the Federal level most of those cars are illegal. If the Fed's decide its time to clean house there's gonna be a lot of pissed off people in FL.
