Does anyone know if Mitsubishi sells this part of the wing? Its the parts that covers the cf wing to the side with the bolts. Mines flew off on the highway. Also, if anyone has one in WW or another WW 9 wing, lmk.

I remember reading in one of the wing threads, that part of the wing is not supposed to come off as its part of the wing, meaning its not a separate piece. I think youre gona have to get another wing unfortunately.

 

That is the 8 wing only the out sides can come off of it.

The 9 wing is able to be completely taken apart.

 

Funny you have mentioned that. You now have me scared. I was taking something out of my trunk today and noticed that there was a gap between that piece and the wing on the right side.

 

My IX wing feels pretty flimsy compared to a buddy's 8.

 

The 9 wing is only carbon fiber in the center and it is hollow.

The 8 wing if full CF and has a filled center section.


There are a few threads that talk about how they made the 9 wing cheaper than the 8 wing.

 

 

i've also got a WW 9 and just went wingless. my wing feels perfectly fine and secure everywhere, no gaps. must just happen randomly.

 

anyone in the tristate area interested in a wingless shaved clean tarmac black trunk.

Trade for stock wing trunk + cash on your end please let me know.

Happened to me third day of owning the car. I just popped the other side out and went on with life. If I can find a tarmac black one though I will probably snag it up.

 

Glad to know Im not the only one but does anyone know if I can just get that piece at Mitsu?

 

I asked my mitsu dealer and he looked for a solid 30 minutes and didn't find anything. But best bet to rule out the dealer is maybe if someone who works parts at a dealer and is knowledgable about Evo's chimes in. I know how just regular parts guys don't see these cars alot so my guy might have overlooked it.
