Update from my Car Accident!
Wow! You definately need to get more money out of the insurance. DONT cash that check, tell them you dont want to cash out, what you want is for THEM to pay the body shop. Take it in and have the body shop get an estimate and let them send it in to the insurance. They will and can deal with the adjuster at that point. FWIW, I got rear ended and scuffed the rear bumper paint, no damage to any brackets and my insurance sent the body shop bill for $850.
p.s. Is that a cf hood in your pic? I had assumed cf will crack not bend?

BEFORE dropping the car off, make sure both parties are in contact and aware (body shop and insurance company).
I've seen a few cases where the insurance company claimed that once you cashed the check, you accepted that as a full payment as "settlement" and refused to fork over any more money.
Once you get in touch with both companies and the insurance company agrees to cover the costs for any repairs over the estimated amount, you are in the clear.
You are within every right to specify what shop you want the car to go to. Tell them what place you want the mechanical repairs done and they should allow it to be taken care of. Again, follow the same steps for the post I just quoted. Body work alone can get pretty expensive, throw in mechanical repairs and it's a different ball game. Just make sure you notify her insurance company as well.
You have every right to get your car running a 100 percent like it was previous to the accident. Her insurance company is completely responsible for making sure that happens. In the mean time, I would also suggest contacting your insurance company as well. They will be able to assist and help you with anything you need. Whenever I've had an accident where someone else was at fault, I've always just had my insurance company work everything out.

Very true, however, one thing I noticed though is that my insurance (Travelers) will only write a two party check to you and your shop of choice. Only under special circumstances will they write you, and only you, the full amount for the check minus the deductible. Like in my area where we've had so much hail damage.
