BOV Flutter after Perrin Intake Install

I just took out my 8 for a test drive after installing a Perrin intake and as expected the BOV is louder but what is unexpected is that it doesnt sound crisp, it has a flutter sound to it each time i let off the accelerator....The BOV on my car is a WORKS diverter valve.....any thoughts

Check to see if you reinstalled your bov the exact way you removed it initially. It could also be that it always fluttered, but now since its a much more open intake, you can hear it fluttering. When i installed my perrin intake, the characteristics of the bov remained the same as before.

That's why you hear it so easily now, because you aren't using the box, just an open filter. This is normal.

I understand that I am going to hear it but should it be a crisp sound, like opening a can of soda? Mine sounds like a soda opening with a fluttering sound after

If the BOV is adjustable you need to adjust it untill it stops. The flutter you are hearing is turbo surge.

I use Synapse bov and its the exact same thing. I recently had my 60k done and asked specifically for them to check on that while doing a test drive and from what i was told is that its normal. I know what you mean it doesnt feel/sound right but i cant find anyone to diagnose it with anything other than normal.

search turbo flutter, bov flutter, compressor surge. Bound to find some helpful information.

The sound won't be a "crisp" release sound. What you're hearing is normal.

Mine sounds like my car is sneezing.

When I'm on the throttle there's the loud whistle of the turbo spooling + the intake breathing in a ton of air then when I let off there's an audible "chooo"

Check this video to see what I mean:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5YvRcS8UD-Q

Before my cams went in I would only get flutter if I was going up a hill in 5th gear at really low boost levels. Now I get it in 3rd-5th pretty easily but still only at partial throttle/2-3 pounds of boost. No flutter at all during WOT pulls though, never have experienced that.
