AC stops working randomly
I had this and it was the solenoid on the front of the compressor facing the radiator. Instead of turning on at a certain temp it would turn off, thus the 5 min of cold air then nothing. Solenoid is only $35, but the compressor has to be dropped to get the new one in.
PS On an unrelated note, if your compressor filter ever gets plugged (mine was due to metal shavings from the impact from my accident) it will cause a pressure spike and it can blow the solenoid out... at 600 psi... right through the radiator.

My ac will choose when it wants to work, and when I hear the compressor running it blows nice cold air then It randomly stops/ blows warm air and I check the ac clutch and its no longer spinning. Had old freon removed and new freon put in and same thing.
I was thinking its the coil as stated or maybe selonoid now. Any suggestions on which one It could be ?
